She's done it again! National squash queen Nicol Ann David has won the World Open title for the 4th time, thus retaining the title and strengthening her grip as World No 1. This makes her the third player to win the World Open for more than 3 times, joining Sarah Fitz-Gerald and Susan Devoy. Nicol won the title after coming back from one set down to defeat Natalie Grinham (who represented Holland) 3-11, 11-6, 11-3, 11-8. Well done, Nicol! We Malaysians are proud of you!

Lewis Hamilton has won his 2nd race of this season for McLaren Mercedes, finishing ahead of German Timo Glock of Toyota and Renault driver Fernando Alonso of Spain. Cup as gift for 2nd time in a row
Whoa... I get a cup (again) as a gift for 2nd time in a row!!!
Earlier this month, I've received a cup set for acheiving 100% attendance in CF for 2nd consecutive semester. Just now, I got another one thru a lucky draw.
This afternoon, I went for Public Mutual's Business Opportunity Preview seminar together with my parents. (my mom is a Unit Trust Consultant with Public Mutual.) The seminar was to introduce Unit Trust and recruit potential agents. Throughout the seminar, Ms Lok Wai Meng, a Group Agency Manager who has 15 yrs of experience in this field, Mr Yun Chee Keong (Agency Manager) and Ms Ooi Chin Bee (Agency Supervisor) shared abt what is UT and who is Public Mutual. There is lucky draw at the end of seminar. The gift is a Public Mutual cup, to be given away to 7 lucky persons. And my name was called. So I stepped forward to receive the gift from Ms Lok. After that, refreshment time. Then we left the place and carry on with our own plans.
Heehee.. going back to Kampar tmr night. Getting ready to go camping in few days time. Got the packing list n additional info thru CGBC Campus Connect Facebook profile. Woo... I can't wait for the camp to come. Done with the packing.
Oh ya, CF camp is also around the corner too.. to those who have signed up, enjoy urselves ya.

Home sweet home
Ahh.. after holidaying at my auntie's house for few days, I've returned to my own comfy home in Ipoh.
Departed from ah yee's house around 11am, we (my parents, granny & me) stopped at Temoh to have lunch at one of the restaurants there lah.. then we stopped at my Kampar house for a short while to get the rest of my luggage bags. We reached Ipoh at around 3 sumthing in the afternoon... after dropping off my grandma at the house of my mom's youngest brother, we went home
Reached home at around 4pm.. unload all the bags in the car boot, send the clothes into washing machine.. wow, loads of clothes to wash.. until now, only washed twice.. still haven't wash all yet
Anyway, spend a few days at home first.. then going back to Kampar maybe around 27 Sept.. wait to go camping.. after that, thought of staying at ah yee's house for one more week. Then wait till 17 or 18 Oct, then go back Kampar, ready for my short trimester.
Hee... whenever I'm free, I'll be spending time reading 4 books: 3 on literature, another one borrowed from my ah yee. The book title's Answers to Life's Problems by Billy Graham.. I find this book very useful indeed. Maybe I'll share what the book is about after I've finished reading it.

In KL now...
Hehehe... can enjoy my long-waited holidays... yay... now I'm in KL now, spending time with my auntie's family
Yesterday, my parents came and pick me up to go KL together after attending my neighbour's wedding luncheon... in the beginning they said they'll come pick up on the way back from KL. But my mom suggested that come get me first then travel to KL lah... so they came around 4.30pm.. after putting my luggage bags into the car... off we go
Around 7.30 pm, we reached my ah yee's house.. then uncle Diong brought us out for dinner... we went to South Sea Seafood Restaurant in Subang... after placing our orders, I went out jalan-jalan around the restaurant... nice environment there... wow, I saw a lot of live marine creatures there... lobsters, crabs, eels & abalones just to name a few... really an eye-opener for me.. have nvr seen live water creatures in my whole life before
Another thing I noticed there is that the ambassador for the restaurant is Michelle Yim who is a HK TVB actress. Her face is seen around the restaurant, holding a lobster to promote the restaurant. Yim Wai Ling (Michelle), or commonly known as Mai Suit, starred in a lot of TVB series, among them are Heart of Greed and Moonlight Resonance (hee.. currently I'm watching this series thru a programme my fren gave me, but most series are in Chinese, it would be nicer if it's in Cantonese for HK TVB series)
Then our food came... looks very delicious and tasty too... we had an enjoyable dinner there. Then we went home and had fellowship with one another. Later that night, we watched New Police Story where Jackie Chan starred in the movie.
As I'm typing this out, Cicak-Man, starring Saiful Apek, is shown on TV right now. Later, there's Cicak-Man 2: Planet Hitam and X-Men: The Last Stand. Ok, gotta go now. Catch ya next time. Sayonara!!!

Dinner fellowship with coursemates
Went dinner with sum of my fellow coursemates just now... had an enjoyable time
Just around 7pm, still raining outside... not very heavy... go wait at JL's house first... then baru jalan... those also going were Ivy, Steffy, Bee Ling, Kim Yun, Chia Huey, Pei Ching, Pui Chee, Winna n Eugene... Stippie joined us as well... we decide to go makan at Golden Sand Cafe (behind MahaMaju 2)... all except Eugene, Winna & me went there by walking in the rain (with umbrellas of course)... 3 of us went there by motor
The restaurant environment n design quite nice la... we chose to sit upstairs... then when everyone settled down, we order our food. Since we've finished our exam dy la (except Stippie, he still got 2 more papers), we decide to celebrate. I ordered mushroom chicken chop rice (should've ordered sumthing else), dragonfruit ice blended n banana boat. RM12.80 the total cost... our food came, but my dessert came b4 the main dish n drink, strange right? And sumthing not right with the banana boat (Winna also ordered this too)... it came with mangoes instead of bananas... wth... nvm hungry dy, just eat lah... then in the middle, my dad called... it turned out they're gonna cum pick me up tmr to go KL together... yippie, can go home earlier lah.... hehehe
After done with our dinner, we celebrated Pei Ching's birthday. Actually, today not the actual date.. her birthday next Fri (25 Sept).. so we celebrate earlier for her la... bought an orange cake from Caker's Inn... quite delicious, yummy... took sum photos... had sum time fellowshiping with each other...then around 9.30pm... we balik rumah masing-masing... happy birthday in advance, Pei Ching... take care & happy always ya... also hope u get gud results in the just concluded exam

终于考完试啦。。。可以轻轻松松的去放假啦！！！
Aaaahhhh... finished my last exam paper today... phew, glad that it's over already... now can enjoy my long-waited holidays kau kau la... but have no idea how to spend my semester boh... apart from go camping n reading literature books that I got after exam
Talking abt the exam la... overall it was kinda ok la... but I won't get an A this time... cos lost more than 10 marks... left 1 or 2 questions unanswered... coursework 51.8 out of 70... to get A, I must score at least 28.2... but it's impossible now that 3 marks already gone... nvm, A- or B also can la... other sections quite easy la... cum to write an editorial, I done 2 pgs on PPSMI... half way thru the exam, suddenly SHHHAAAAAAAAAA.... raining outside... after exam it became smaller... then later Eugene asked us stay back a while... to get the books we've paid... 3 books in total... titles of the books: We Could **** You, Mr Birch by Kee Thuan Chye (play), Spirit of the Keris (short stories & poems), Green is the Colour by Lloyd Fernando (novel)... a lot to read... guess I'll be spending most of my holidays reading those 3
Going back on 21 Sept, spend a few days at home... then come back around 27... ready to go CAMPING.... yay... after camp, see how 1st la... maybe go visit my auntie in Shah Alam... oh, I missed Teck Wern... long time din see my cute little cousin sister dy la... wonder how she looks now... should be more prettier than the last time I saw her.. also missed her two brothers, Teck Shen n Teck Waye... maybe I wanna go MPH to buy sum more Warriors books... luv the series a lot ever since I read one of the books, Fire and Ice... oh ya, maybe watch sum movie also can woh
一天都光晒... guess everyone should be heading back to their hometown these few days... sum today, sum few days later... sum who has finished their exam earlier than us went back dy.. Esmond, Eugene's brother, among them... anyway, going for dinner later with coursemates around 7pm... this semester no BBQ gathering cos everyone's busy due to the tight exam schedule la... no time to go buy food... all the time spent studying

Just one more
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..... just one more paper to go, then I'm FREE... for a short while la
Phew.. done my fourth paper, Psycholingustics, just now... not easy, but not hard either... sumhow managed to answer most of the questions la... kinda satisfied this time cos I did quite well esp in Section C, writing short notes... I performed much better than I did in Quiz 3... for essay question la.. 2 choose 1... one on +ve n -ve effects of bilingualism, another on speech errors... can think of sum points 4 both Qs... dunno which 1 2 choose woh... in the end, wrote slightly more than 1 page for speech errors (with sum examples)... I hope I'll get a B 4 this subject
Then after exam, Eugene made an announcement abt Malaysian Literature in English, one of the subjects I'm gonna take in the short trimester next month... he mentioned Mr Lim has ordered 3 bks for us, one each for plays, poems & short stories.. ttl cost RM67.15... if hav money of exact amount, pay him on d spot, if not, either tmr or by 1st week of next sem la... will get d bks tmr... lucky I withdrew sum money b4 going 4 exam jus now... so pay him 1st la... but short of 2 bucks... but Winna helped me to cover the sum 1st... so hav to pay her back rm3... gonna pay her tmr...Eugene also told us to read the bks during our sem break... Mr Lim afraid that we dun hav much time to read up the bks during the semester, so ask us to read 1st... ok lor, can also.. not sure how to spend my holidays mah... so reading those bks can makan away sum of my time
One more obstacle standing in the way...tmr my last paper, Journalism 2.. lots of things to rmb too... but I'll get over it... after that, holiday here I come... will b going back to Ipoh on 21st... spend few days at home... then cum back Kampar maybe around 26 or 27 Sept... why leh? go camping la... CGGC camp on 30th till 2nd Oct... CF camp also same time, but one extra day... cant wait for the camp

2 more to go
Woo... finished my 3rd paper, Morphology & Syntax, today... just 2 more to go
The questions quite easy la... format similar to the past semesters' exam papers... practised doing the exam papers that I asked Winna to photostat for me... got familiar with it... so have no difficulties dealing with this battle
But I almost made a blunder just now.. didn't read the instructions carefully for the last question... if Mr Wong hadn't reminded me la... I would've lost all the marks for that question... anyway, thanks Mr Wong... did the correction dy... recheck my answers b4 handing in my answer booklet... left the venue around 10.30am.. guess I'm the 1st one to leave.. met Amelia on my way out of Block G... she had her exam there too... sembang with her for a while la then balik cos my last 2 papers is on 2 straight days... one in the morning, the other in the afternoon... then hor... can go holiday loo... although exam timetable kinda pack, the good thing is that my coursemates & I can go home earlier... hehehe
OK la... time to do my revision dy la... will spend time revise for both Psycholinguistics n Journalism alternately.. but will focus on Psycho first... cos the exam on Fri, 9am

Actually, she's a cartoon character from Japanese anime Hamtaro... part of the main Ham-Ham gang... she loves pink a lot... and little Penelope too... love to watch this when I'm small... my favourite characters are Hamtaro, the main character, and Bijou, his sweetheart... lemme tell u la they're an ideal couple... one of my 3 favourite couples... the other 2 pairs being Mickey-Minnie n Firestar-Sandstorm (from Warriors novel series by Erin Hunter)... apart from Pashmina, sum of my frens also celebrate their birthday this month la.. won't mention those that has passed... upcoming birthdays: Gerviene Choo, Zong Wai (housemate), Nicholas Aw (CF member), Eng Kian, Jun Hong, You Liong, Sai Leong, Pei Ching, Joey Low, Sin Fei, Lisa Chu, Anthony Siah (Mei Yun's bf), Tai Loong, Cawan & Tze Lip.

Another one down
Just finished my 2nd paper today.. Academic Writing.. 3 more to go.. then holiday
Talking abt d exam la.. kinda ok.. 1st 2 sections kinda esay.. just identify topic sentences, thesis statement la.. error in sentence... then essay.. 3 questions choose 1.. argumentative, discussion, compare-contrast.. thought for a few minutes which one to write woh.. can think of sum points for each question la but chose to discuss abt how to improve public transport system in our country.. here, I fired at will... just simply hentam watever that comes across my mind la.. the essay almost 2 pgs long
Fuh.. did my best.. then go check my coursework marks.. got 43.8 out of 60.. quite good la.. sumhow hor.. dunno wats wrong wif my grammar la.. got low marks for 2nd asgnmt.. among the lowest compared to others.. haiz.. but to lighten me up, my 1st asgnmt got high marks.. when I check back my asgnmts, there isn't any errors in the 1st asgnmt.. only 4 words written on the cover page: good, short, succint, simple.. but for both asgnmt hor.. I din include references for the drafts.. nvm, I done my best dy... Mr Paul said I shud get an A.. I hope so.. but dunno why I said A- or B+ is fine for me.. I shud think positively.. it is possible to get one.. but it depends on Mr Paul now... I done my part, I hope he do his part too

Fuh!! Just done my first paper in the final exam
It's Moral... glad that it's over dy.. lots of theories, religions n other info tm be remembered
Sumhow, I managed to get over the first battle... sum questions easy, sum hard, sum even tricky la.. MCQs quite ok la.. sum I know wan.. dunno wan just simply tembak onli la.. come to essay.. quite ok.. not too hard.. 3 choose 2.. 1st one compulsory la.. the other 2 choose 1. But it's a little hard for me la.. sumhow can't rmb sum thoughts n criticisms of sum theories... but I did my best in the battle, now leave the rest to God... also hope Mr Muthu baik hati enuf to give me higher marks la.. heehee
Nvm, relieved that overcomed the 1st battle..

Prayer meeting
Today went for CGBC prayer meeting... it's my first time man
Prayer meeting on 5.30pm every Wed.. but I normally din go la cos busy with my studies mah..
But now study week dy ma.. got free time.. of course need to study also la.. but dun hav to study all the time la.. sumtimes need a break punya ma.. today's meeting is to pray for those Kutar (Ktar + Utar) students in the final exam lar.. Ktar has started their exam but Utar not yet la.. gonna start this Fri.. my exam start on 12th n end 19th.. kinda pack right... ya, 5 subjects in 8 days man.. really envy my other frens la.. they like have more than 10 days... this ain't fair.. we're the first one to know our exam timetable but the schedule quite tight.. but the good thing is that we end our exam earlier.. can balik kampung earlier than the rest la.. but I'm not gonna go home so fast.. wait for abt 10 more days..relax myself first.. then go camping lu.. haha
Abt my revision, I've started on Moral since it's my first paper.. a bit on Psycho.. the rest haven't started yet.. gonna start soon cos there isn't much time left
Oh ya.. speaking abt the prayer meeting.. only a few were there.. Daniel, Irena, Jessie, PC, KLynn, Mun Yee (first time also).. the meeting began with a short worship session.. then pray for final exam n also the camp.. in btwn, sum1 familiar to us appeared.. John came back from UK on Sat.. he left us last semester to go Liverpool study la.. he shared his life there.. glad to see he's back safely.. thank God for protection on him.. he gonna look for job after graduate Feb or Mar next yr.. his parents also anxious la.. help him to find job as well
Then after he has shared.. we're divided into 2 grps to pray.. Daniel, me, John n KLynn in one while the rest in another...among the items prayed were final exam, camp, good health, protection, wisdom, John to look for a job ASAP etc.. I took the opportunity to thank God for guiding me to a decision to join the CC camp.. KLynn also prayed for me n Eugene as our exam timetable kinda tight.. pray that not only 2 of us but also other 28 girls to use the time available wisely.. after that.. PC, KLynn they all go makan but I din join them la cos I joined Calvin & the gang for dinner..
Ok la.. that's all.. woo.. time to go, back to study.. see ya next time

9 September 2009... an auspicious day esp for lovebirds
To most couples, this day is considered very special for them
As the word 'jiu' (pinyin) means 'longevity' in Chinese, most couples will choose to tie the knots today ( I really hope Mr Kuek and Ms Cheng will get married today, but their wedding is next month)
Some couples who are either married or not ready to get married will spend quality time together
What abt me? Honestly, I really envy those are dating or going to get married cos I don't have any girlfriends yet.. yup, not dating at the moment.. still waiting patiently for the right girl to appear.. maybe she has already appeared but I dun realise or aware abt her presence or existence.. dunno when I'll meet my other half.. haiz.. but I believe the girl will appear when the time is right.. so now focus on my studies first.. facing the giants (final exam) soon
Although it's not my day of romance, today is a special day for me too... Wanna know why? Cos it's 1st anniversary for AES3730... u wonder what is it? Haha.. my scootie lah
My bro n mom bought it for me last yr la.. Suzuki VR125.. yellow colour.. for abt 2.3k.. still rmb the day I got my bke.. 9 Sept 2008.. one day after Phonetics n Phonology final exam.. that day, my mom din go to work.. she n my bro came down to Kampar to visit me.. my bro say wanna buy motor for me woh.. it's around lunch time they arrived at my place la.. after makan, they bring me go Old Town to buy motor.. my bro sent me photos of the bike he wanna buy me la.. so after nego nego.. we bought the bike dy la.. then my mom drove me home using her white Proton Saga Aeroback (now sold off) while my bro ride my new scootie home.. then I test drive my new bike.. get familiar with it.. then after a few times, I get used to it.. my mom n bro very happy la.. so around 5 sumthing... they wanna balik dy.. saying my dad waiting them for dinner.. so I bye-bye them n carried on with my revision.. around 6pm.. my dad called me from Ipoh.. asking me where is mom n bro.. he was furious at that time la cos my mom n bro promised him to go out dinner.. I say they balik 1 hr ago n shud b back that time .. my dad was suspicious why my mom din go work that day.. he knew bro gonna cum visit me.. but din know mom visiting me.. so I lied to him, saying mom came visit after her work..during our conversation, my mom n bro came back.. so my dad put down the phone n I heard him scolding them la.. so I hang up n continue with my revision
Until now la.. onli my mom n bro knew abt my scootie.. my dad din know.. wonder wat his reaction gonna be if he finds out.. really can't imagine.. also my other relatives din know as well.. apart from my mom n bro, my housemates, coursemates n other frens in Kampar knew abt it...
Now I use my scootie very often esp going to Utar, church (CBGC and WMC) n other places... of course, I still use my bicycle sumtimes la.. so far both my bikes don't give me lots of trouble la.. they serve me well.. but I shud give them the service they deserved (honestly I din wash them very often)
Anyway, I have thank my bro for buying the scootie... he said lar.. if he hasn't bought it for me, maybe I still dunno how to ride a bike n be a road user until now

Feel a bit lighter cos all my burdens removed... hehe... everything gao dim dy... quizzes, presentations, assignment... now left with final exam onli la... but the exam period getting nearer and nearer.. my first paper on 12 Sept... my exam timetable displayed on my blog... now relax for a while first la.. then start work liao
Haiz... din manage to finish revising for Morphy quiz cos busy preparing for psycho presentation n also doing the AW asgnmt la.. but it turns out the quiz allost simliar to final exam format woh.. just True-False questions, draw tree structures and phrase structure trees, write out phrase structure rules and identify word formation process.. that's all... got coursework marks for psycho, moral n JR while AW n Morphy not yet la... kinda satisfied with the marks I got la... but I shud and will work hard to score better in the final exam
Usually the final week of every semester hor.. lecturers give students sum tips for the final exam... telling them what topics will cum out n what topics won't in the final exam..
Another trend is that students usually take photos with lecturers in the same week la... I'm no exception anyway... sumhow, the phone I bought 2 months ago is very useful indeed la...glad that I requested for a change in the begining... now it served me well.. this time I took photos with my coursemates and lecturers la.. unlike the previous 2 semesters.. sigh, that time hor, wanna take pics with lecturers one... but my phone very cheap, basic one... so apa nak buat... ask fren to take pics first la... then send them to me... very mafan la... then had to take photos for JR asgnmts summore... so pinjam fren punya phone to snap photos I want n again ask them send me the photos

Presentation over
Fuh... finally I've done all my presentation for this sem lah.. very happy.. but still got little more work to do...
This time on psycho... as mentioned earlier in the Presentation grps order decided.. there were 9 presentation grps la.. 4 to present this morning, which over dy... n 5 in the afternoon, which means now la..
My grp was the 3rd grp after Eugene's n JL's grp n b4 Marigold's grp
Topics presented: Lenneberg's Critical Period Hypothesis by Gene's grp, followed by Jean Piaget's biography & contributions (JL's grp n my team) and bilingualism (Marigold's grp)
All did a good job I can say... for me la, sumhow I still can't speak fluently n sumtimes had to read from slides... but sumthing different this time.. u know wat... I wasn't nervous while presenting this time... not like other presentation earlier... probably I prayed to God the night b4 that... God sumhow calmed me from getting nervous woh.. really wanna praise the Lord
I also checked out my psycho coursework marks with Mr Renu la...27.6 out of 40.. quite ok la.. but it could be higher if I performed well in Quiz 3... nvm... I did my best dy la.. although not so satisfying la.. gotta work hard to score well in the final exam... using the method recommended by Mr Renu... try to recall info after finishing a section or topic, he told me la.. that wud be more effective la.. usually I jus go thru the notes once or twice during revision.. now I discover that way doesn't help me much in storing info into memory after learning abt memory processes...
Heehee... as I'm typing this out... sum of my coursemates are doing their presentation now... all the best ya...

I did my best dy la.. although not so satisfying la.. gotta work hard to score well in the final exam... using the method recommended by Mr Renu... try to recall info after finishing a section or topic, he told me la.. that wud be more effective la.. usually I jus go thru the notes once or twice during revision.. now I discover that way doesn't help me much in storing info into memory after learning abt memory processes...
Heehee... as I'm typing this out... sum of my coursemates are doing their presentation now... all the best ya...

CF Finale at GKH
Grand Kampar HotelHad lots of fun during the last CF meeting at Grand Kampar Hotel (GKH) just now
Yesterday night was the last meeting dy ma..
so we decided to make it grand la..
by having the meeting at GKH.
not the usual place la (WMC)
Around 8pm, I went there by my bike..
found a parking spot nearby the hotel... nice
then, as I walked in.. I met sum of CF committees..

he came up with an idea la...
when Shu comes in, he asked us to clap hands and shout his name la
Eric also said ar.. Ms Cheng dressed very nice woh...
so when she stepped into the hall, we clapped hands also
but Shu is away from a moment

among those shared were Florence, Dante, Aaron, Shu Ern, Renjie, Kelvin, Ah Derk, Calvin
Renjie said she's the oldest CF member
she has been in CF since she's in foundation

he asked the audience (those who dunno onli)
guess how many races he has la
then he explains:
90% thought he's Malay..
nobody thought he's Chinese...
sum thought he's Indian..
one of his secondary school fren thought he's Bangla
one auntie thought he's Orang Asli
Kyle suggested he's Taliban
Ah Derk once even asked, "Ei.. that Calvin ar, is he Philippines ah?"
he's actually half Indian, half Chinese
the crowd was entertained by him very much la
in btwn the sharing time, Shu came back from outside
we did what Eric told us
and Shu thought we chase him away

well, actually I wanna share also la.. but time didn't allow me to do so
anyway, I had to say thank u to Joshua Lim la
he's the one approached me when I visited the CF booth
if not, I wud not have experienced what I'm gone thru the precious n enjoyable moments I had in CF
then Mr Marn Foo said it's prize-giving session
first he mentioned 5 person didn't come CF only once this sem
Jensen, Kyle, Florence, Guan Heng n Kelvin
then he said there were 7 person who achieved 100% attendace this semester la
who are they? jeng jeng jeng
Mr Marn Foo said 2 of them had 100% attendance for 3 consecutive semesters
one of them is ME la.. woohoo!! the other being Renjie la
this sem and the previous one... it's true la
but the first sem I studied here, I missed a lot of CF meetings la
how could I achieved 100%, 50% pun tak sampai
I think Renjie has a better attendance than me la
anyway, since Mr Marn Foo said so, jus accept it lo..
received a prize la.. a Mickey Mouse cup set

maybe he's busy gua...
then, everyone hungry dy... so we took sum grp photos first then we go enjoy the food prepared by the hotel
